After 20 years of suffering with "textbook" rectovaginal endometriosis symptoms, being in & out of A&E, the GP, and Gynae. I was unexpectedly diagnosed with complexed endometriosis and faced the prospect of losing my bowel (fortunately my surgeon saved my bowel) and told me that I would probably have to have IVF if I wanted to have a family. Being naïve I assumed that following diagnosis and excision surgery everything will be ok, nonetheless, I have had a crash cause in how cruel and truly misunderstood this condition is.

Throughout my journey I have become highly frustrated with the lack of understanding, knowledge, treatment, support, research progression, and medical advancement of endometriosis in that, I want to make a positive impact. I would love to increase much needed awareness, empathy, and increased knowledge of endometriosis within society & the medical profession. Most importantly I want the millions of suffers to be heard, valued, and to know that they are not alone on this journey. This lead to the creation of Project 514 415 in 2021, with the simple idea to give a platform to all endometriosis suffers, enabling them to share their lived experiences of endometriosis, in their own way, through ART AND LITERTAURE.

I hope that Project 514 415 has a positive legacy within the endometriosis community, medical profession, and society.

• Creating social media posts and reels 

• Manage the team of ambassadors

• Working with the founder to secure sponsorship & funding

 

When Chelsea is not volunteering with Project 514 415, she is running her own non-for-profit ‘Getting the Better of Endo’, working closely with EndoMarch on community and awareness events in Ohio and DC.

 

Chelsea is very passionate about representing the under represented endometriosis community, as she knows first hand the struggles a "text book" endometriosis patient has, in which Chelsea wants everyone to have access to gold standard endometriosis care. Chelsea, is highly passionate about  inclusivity and representing the whole endometriosis  community, in which she focuses her research on the underrepresented communities who suffer with endometriosis
